Anyone doing anything now to prepare for the hayfever season this summer?
I'm determined to try to avoid the worst of it.

I've heard the docs can do injections or something if I get in early enough but never tried it

Thanks for the reminder. Since moving away from home for uni I haven't suffered in the last two years (touch wood) living in Loughborough. I'm on placement in Leeds this year though so things could be completely different again.
How do you usually prepare? I've found the most effective product for me is Nasaleze (inert cellulose powder). Better than anything I have ever had on prescription.
Edit: was offered an injection about 5 years ago when taking my A-levels. They said it could have side effects which I didnt want to risk at that time.

Mine started last week (tree pollen you see)
I take Fexofenadine on prescription. Best antihistamine I've ever used.

Yours started last week?? So that'll explain it: I was sneezing like a bee-atch and snottin' all over the place but refused to believe that THE CURSE had started so darn early in the year.

Yours started last week??
Its late this year. I've known it to start in January in milder years!
Luckily I can roll in the grass (if I want to) without ill effects.

I get round it by wearing a respro mask to filter out the pollen during the worst weeks - I hate wearing it but it avoids the chest infections.
Think I'll go and see the doc for a chat

It seems odd that I don't suffer when out riding. Around the house is worst.
An ioniser helps unless the pollen count is really high.
Living on the coast also helps. I used to live in Berkshire and suffered really badly. Then I got a new job on the Isle of Wight. I remember traveling down to the Lymington ferry on Monday mornings after a weekend sneezing. A few minutes standing on the open deck and all sniffles had gone.
