    Do you know why if a download an area at the same zoom with Microsoft Map I have a file about 150Mb and with OpenCycleMap is 1.3Gb

    I try the zoom 16, and work correctly, the only problem is to have a small area an not al the square. But for small area is possible to have a better zoom.

    If you know a file name for a quarter area of city, but only work with name continent, country, city, if you change name they don’t work.

    In zoom level 16,You can add selection.change Grid zoom bigger.
    And insert data into city_xx_yy.dat.

    Change currentMap.xml
    type=”rastermap” minlevel=”2″ —>minlevel=”1″

    The only problem is if I want to use mapsource opencyclemap that create file too big for the rider about 2gb. If is possible to create many file for each city_x_y, but is not possible it read only file with the correct name. I don’t know why.

    Put this code on file settings.xml when Mobac is closed. After <settings> insert:

    <customMapSources>
    <customMapSource>
    <name>Open CycleMap</name>
    <minZoom>0</minZoom>
    <maxZoom>18</maxZoom>
    <tileType>png</tileType>
    <tileUpdate>None</tileUpdate> <url>http://a.tile.opencyclemap.org/cycle/{$z}/{$x}/{$y}.png</url>
    </customMapSource>
    </customMapSources>
    If you want you can insert other url for any mapsource you want.

    A cell(tile) size is 256 pixels*256 pixels(PNG format) and
    Max 65536 cells(tiles) per DB.(in case of city_xx_yy.dat)
    (This is big but not huge.)

    I do not think that the number of tile is the only limit, but also the size of the file. Because if I create the file city with 65536 tile, and using as map source OpenCycleMap he hangs due to the excessive size of the file. If there was the possibility of dividing the city into several parts boxes maybe you could fix the problem, but Bryton do not accept different names for the files. We should figure out how to run the engine of the program.

    I think the problem with large file was that my original file don’t have primary key check on z, x, y. Now I check it and work fine, even whit big file.

    Not really related to all of the above but has anyone changed the battery in their 50 yet? Mine dies rapidly, it gets used every day for about 45 minutes and charged when required but it’s only just coming up to 3 years old and the Bryton distributor here in Oz has told me it’s not able to change it and offered a replacement at a reduced price.
    Seems like a waste to throw it away on the basis of a dying battery so I’ll probably open it up to have a look, just wondering if anyone has heard of someoen else fixing one?

    No problem I try and it work fine even with file of 1.2Gb the problem was that I don’t have the primary key in database, now that I insert this work fine.
    Thanks for your support. Now work all fine.

    Only one question how can you plan your trip with rider? Is not possible with this map, only with gpx import, correct?

    I don’t know exactly,but you will use HD street map.
    In Japan,HD street map is not supported.
    HD street map may be a vector map and it can navigate turn by turn.

    Hi all,
    It’s been a while since the last message on this thread but I hope someone can help me.
    I purchased a used Rider 50 and it’s the non navteq version. I do get two DVD’s with the maps but the new bryton bridge removed the support to upload them into the unit. Also, I do believe that the maps are already on the sdcard that came with the unit, and when requesting maps info it returns that I have the portuguese standar map but the activation is not done.
    For what I’ve read this activation is also made on the bridge software, but once again it does nothing.
    The unit does not have the old bridge install on it (even after a complete wipe using the bryton tool).
    Can anyone help me? At least, does anyone have the original bryton bridge and send it to me?
    Many thanks to all!

    Regards,
    Luis
