I was looking to replace my race face grips for my new summer season build, mostly because they feel so short. But I measured them and they are 130mm, and then looking around it seems that is standard for mountain bike grips. I guess you need short grips to be able to reach the shifters (I've been riding bmx this year, and they have loooong grips)
I dunno. I don't think I have big hands, but they feel right on the edge with 130mm. Is that something i just have to get used to , or is anyone running longer grips

I use bmx grips with the flanges cut off for this very reason

I wanted some ODI longneck grips, they're available in 130 or 143 mm but that doesn't seem like a big difference to me.

They kind of BMX style though!

Oddly enough I've got a pair of Odyssey Dually BMX grips sat here in front of me… They're only 130mm long! It's always seemed plenty long enough to me though, you must have BIG hands!
