I've got an alpkit and my dad is looking for a bag to use 3 or 4 nights a week over the next few months. any alternatives worth considering.

I'd stick with Alpkit.

The real budget option is the Tesco down sleeping bag (600g fill) for £40 which would be fine for occasional spring/summer use, bothy's and bunkhouses but I'd go Alpkit for regular use outdoors.

Does it need to be down? I use a Mountain Hardwear Lamina 35, which was £40 in a sale.

Doesn't need to be down, think he fancies a bit of luxury as he is going to be using it so much.
