I have a Garmin forerunner 305 and I have re-instaaled the software on my laptop. However the software will not read the GPS. The GPS says transfer complete but the PC comes back with an error message 'problem reading device please check connection'

I had this problem before when the software was originally installed on my imac. Last time I went with the software 'ascent' downloaded from the web which worked well (cost £60 however).

Any suggestions?

Cant help directly but does garmin connect (web based) work on a mac?

Even on windows I occasionally get errors with training centre.

That reminds me to upload today's commute onto Garmin Connect.

I've got an old 301, and rarely use the software anymore, the connect reports and mapping is so much better.
