  • FSA square taper crank… English or Jis?

Sorry silly question and details thin on ground so looking for good ‘probables’ if there’s any doubt.

My penniless mate bust a crank arm on his hybrid and I’m trying to get him mobile again.

I’ve got a spare, old, FSA square taper crank I’m happy to give him.

His existing BB is shafted, so needs a swap.

I’m thinking English taper is more likely but am I right?

It’s almost certainly JIS. The other possibility is ISO (not English) which is mostly used on euro made cranks.

Ta. I’m not sure which my old cranks are, so as I was planning lbs for the BB I’ll take the left arm along to check…

    Thanks Sam!

I had a weird problem – lent a mate a StrongArm crank for his ST BB – turned out the original arm was different from my SA crank arm by 45o – so not interchangeable.. 🙁
