  • Front derailleur seized?

So i sort of broke my hand on christmas eve while out riding. When i got back from the ride the bike got put away without the usual clean & lube it normally gets. Anyway took it out the first time during the week since the crash. The front derailleur is seized up. I've given it a lube & a brush down with degreaser but it's still ridiculously stiff.

For the record it's a relatively new SLX mech, circa 5-6 months & i'm running Gore ride-on cables & they are running smoothly & there's slack in the cable when i drop it down a ring so it's not the cable. So to get it back to full working order is it just a case of more lube & more use or is there anything else i can do to speed up the process?

just start moving it – big screw driver helps.
if you have started lubing again it will soon ease up!!
