I passed someone the other day riding along with their fringe hanging out underneath their helmet 😯 I thought it made his helmet sit funny on his head too 😀

So i thought i’d ask the faithful stwer’s do you ride with your fringe in or out? Is there a fringe etiquette?

I know not of this ‘fringe’ of which you speak. Isn’t it something American schoolgirls have?

    (Actually, they’d have “bangs” instead.)

(Which is a whole other degree of wrong.)

I’m quite sure American schoolgirls have a lot of things, when I google “American schoolgirls” things that come up would give me a ban.

seeing as my fringe is to below my chin it deffo gets scraped to the back along with the rest of my hair or else I would not be able to see

Emsz – i didn’t think NOT wearing a lid was cool anymore, or is the reason because you don’t want to get helmet hair?

They look fine, stop being such a non-cyclist 🙂

You might not go fast, but I’m sure the cars where you live are just as fast and just as badly driven…

    no, ok?

and i am a cyclist thanks, i can do punctures, fix brakes, all sorts. 8)

Molgrips – stop putting your paranoia onto other people. Cycling is a safe pursuit.

Cyclists being hit by cars and bashing their heads on the floor is paranoia is it? Ok then I’d better tell all the people it’s happened to that they didn’t have an injury, it’s all in my mind 🙂

It’s your choice, but you know.. head trauma’s not fun. A bike helmet for me is no weirder than running shoes when running or goggles when swimming. It’s just what you wear.

    Cycling is a safe pursuit.

Yes, but it’s even safer with a lid 🙂

Yes molgrips – paranoia not based on any rational thought or assessment of risk.

Your continual unpleasant attacks on anyone who dares to swing a leg over a bike without a helmet is tiresome.

Lol, is all I have to say about that 🙂

Your continual unpleasant attacks on anyone who dares to swing a leg over a bike without a helmet

What I actually said was this:

    You should!

And I think that’s the ONLY person I have said that to in many years.

I think you are losing it, to be fair Jez.

but seriously, I need to makes some sort of point and not have any fun at all. Without a bicycle helmet on my head and rockin a fringe like.. i dunno.. a bad naughty ginger kid stole his brothers bmx.

A suggestion of fringe to the side, neither tamed nor wild. This is the way.

Haha, so you must be talking of YoungUn’s yeah..? I mean they’re all mop haired in a Glee kinda way down here, a few ride hard enough to blow the fringe backwards and out of the way and they all wear helmets, which helps.
As for “men of a certain age”, surely you can wear it however you please, but don’t mix it up with white rimmed shades.. a step too far IM(satorial)O

Too late now love. You’ve started it off; no chance of it subsiding much before tea-time I woon’t reckon…

    Is that Sebastian Vettel above?

I, erm, don’t really have a fringe at the moment. 🙂

Erm, white rimmed shades.. well they do look a little appliance like yeah?

I wear a helmet in the car. Far more head injuries in cars than on bikes.
