If a chap was riding from Edinburgh to St Andrews, would he have to go round the Western end of the Firth of Forth or is there a cycle/pedestrian path over the A90 bridge?

Route over, can be a bit breezy though.

There's a nice, wide cycle path running alongside. I think only one side is open at the moment, but it's rarely so busy that there's a danger of collision.

there's a pedestrian/cycle lane on both sides of the FRB, but only eastern one is open at the moment.

Pah, just MTFU and cycle over the cables. On a unicycle. Can be hairy in a gale. As a kid I used to ride the path and often got blown sideways in a drift kind of way where the tyres gave up their grip on the tarmac.

they're a bit keener on closing the bridge to bikes these days. guff here.

smart riders avoid the shitty A90 cyclepath by heading towards Kirkliston after Cramond Brig and then up and over via Wester Craigie Farm or heading further west and up and over to Dalmeny past the hollowed out bing.
