my son has got some 03 junior t’s just with a standard QR
has has taken the forks over some big jumps and drops etc

but cannot get full travel out of them, about 140mm i can only get that amount of travel out of them.

i will put a softer spring in them when he saves up 😛
but is there a reducer that could be in there, or does the oil need changing, which could effect the travel usage or something like that.

also does anybody know how to take them apart. there is the wrench bolt at the top and the blot underneath. which one do i take apart first.

    help is much appreciated

Theres probably too much oil in them.

Due to the design of marzocchis (open bath oil system) the fork wont be able to compress fully if theres to much oil since theres nowhere for it to go, hence it will stop the forks before they reach full travel.

Undo the top caps and check the oil levels, then try draining 10ml or so from each leg, then see if you can get full travel. Tie a piece of string round the stanchion to measure the travel

This may help- its the 2002 manual, but there isn’t an 03 JR-T specific manual and they are probably pretty similar.
