please don't ride that bike on the right. it is so ugly the onion i ate in my salad for dinner is crying inside my tummy
Cozz are you tiny?
Ps moonlander arrived this morning, got FAT everytime
not the one on the right somebody has bent your handlebars
or is this one of the funky camera tricks?
maybe this is a good time to ask...
what are fat bikes for?
i rode one the other day briefly. it weighed about 17 tonnes, and wouldnt turn. like literally wouldnt turn.
i dont get it.
so... serious question:
what are they for?
Fat ones are more grateful allegedly.
and wouldnt turn. like literally wouldnt turn.
Was the onion in your tummy alright though?
it is so ugly the onion i ate in my salad for dinner is crying inside my tummy
Is that supposed to be witty?
Ride them both, not at the same time obviously.
well that's cleared that up. thanks chaps.
stay in, get that grey wall paper attached to the wall properly and sort some skirting board out
Can't you compromise by taking the front wheel off the skinny bike and fitting it to the fat bike ?

"It's a dragster"
Would an orange bike like this not be a better compromise or is it just too unniche?
I'd need to wear platforms to ride that
hmm ok. looked like a muddy straight fireroad bit for the 30s or so i watched.
still wondering what they do better? i can understand the drive for rigid, 29er, full suss, ss etc. but what's good about huge tyres?
The're for fat old gits to cruze carparks and tarmac on surely?

tracknicko - MemberMine weighs just over 31 lbs and handles just like "a bike". Just like any other style of bike, there are variations in geometry of different models which affect handling. I've ridden it on the beach and in snow (the original raison d'étre). However, it is ridden more on "natural" XC trails.

It was a hoot at Glentress (including Spooky Woods) but too much of a handful on the rockier trails at Laggan Wolftrax.
Is that supposed to be witty?
no
still wondering what they do better?
Who said anything about better.
Cruzzing is what I like them for.
Is this an excuse to show off your bikes? I'd choose the orange one.
17 tonnes ?
everyone thats picked up my sand man has commented on how light it is ..... (32lb with drilled 100mm rims)
shaggys weighed less than most folk on heres gnarcore freerad bikes.(27lbs)
- i dare say it went faster than most folks gnarcore freerad bikes....
you need a half way house cozz - im off to pick up a midget sized dayone alfine 8 for the mrs tomorrow in "that orange"
handles just like "a bike"
why not get just a bike instead of something that is just like a bike then?
alex222 why does It bother you what other people ride. ?
Is that supposed to be witty? - no
Unless you're 8 years old I don't understand why you typed it then. The onion in your tummy was crying?
Fat bikes are a disgrace.
Mine weighs just over 31 lbs and handles just like "a bike". Just like any other style of bikeFatbikes do not handle like any other style of bike at all. I could go into why in great detail but it would clearly be wasted on you.

each to their own but don't just spout total bollox to try and justify your choice.
GW - MemberTry reading what I wrote again, but see if you can get a grown-up to help you with the punctuation this time.

"It was a hoot at Glentress (including Spooky Woods) but too much of a handful on the rockier trails at Laggan Wolftrax."Undoubtedly.

the fat bike weighs 29 lbs so not to bad really
nice to see the all the haters still in the house
think its gonna be thin
Ah.. ok, sorry
I get what you were saying now
(asked one of my kids to explain. ;))
"Just like any other style of bike, there are variations in geometry of different models which affect handling"
sure there are, but that's not really where the main quirk/trait of every Fatbike's handling comes from.. by their very nature you physically couldn't make a fatbike handle well for the style of riding I enjoy whichever geometry was used.
They're def not for everyone but as I said, each to their own.
nice to see the all the haters still in the houseMission accomplished then, eh? there was no other reason for your OP was there?
by their very nature you physically couldn't make a fatbike handle well for the style of riding I enjoy
Is that the "i'm considerably more rader than yow" style of riding?
each to their own now Stu
If a bearded man falls off a 29er in a forest but there's nobody else around, does anyone know it has no gears?

FAT.
