Any recommendations? Is there much between them?

Personally I don’t like EBC pads, wear quickly, overheat and not that great braking. It all depends on the type of driving, Mintex 1144’s or Ferodo DS2500’s, but that’s really for track days and high speed big braking.

If you are talking bike then I believe gold are sintered and red are organic extra high friction mainly used for dh.

Yes biking, sorry should’ve said, is there much difference between the two, I’m tempted by gold for better weather stopping

That should be wet weather stopping!

Found the Gold to be good on my old Hope M4’s.

I used to use the EBC gold as they lasted well in wet muddy conditions. I don’t think the sintered work as nicely as organic and are noisy when muddy and wet.
Now I stick with genuine hope organic pads as the performance is excellent and they last well.

I haven’t heard of them for a while. Maybe because I haven’t looked but they seemed quite popular around 8-10 years ago. Good pads though. Don’t quote me on this but I was told that they used to make OE pads for some brake manufactures.
