Any ideas on cleanest way to do this? Need to empty the system next month, but there is no drain cock on any of the rads, or its somewhere under the floorboards.

Will be fitting a new lockshield/drain valve combo once its empty as well.

Are you sure there isn’t one sticking out of the house? Would normally be near where the boiler is installed. Quite small – ours sticks out through an air brick…

Shut both lockshields down on a downstairs rad. Crack open one of the nuts securing the rad to the lockshield, undo the bleed screw and use a vax (or similar) to catch all of the water from the rad. Once the rad has been emptied you can remove it and drain the system through the lockshield.
