    At best it sounds like we actually know him – which 99% of us don’t and at worst it sounds like there should be a ‘h’ in there somewhere.

    Is ‘endish’ too much to add?

    You’d expect the Sun ‘newspaper’to call him Cav,because printing Cavendish is too long/difficult a word for their readership to understand.
    In much the same way as they shorten footballers names,i.e. Becks,Lamps,Curbs etc…. 😉

    I chatted to him waiting for a set of lights to green last year does that mean I can call him Cav.
