Can I use a Satellite receiver with my Antenna to pick up Digital TV?

    No.

Digital satellite TV (aka Freesat or Sky if you pay for it) and digital terrestrial TV (aka Freeview) are completely different things.

What do you mean by antenna?

we have moved into a new house which has an Antenna on the roof. There is a coaxial cable in the Living Room. I have connected the cable to the TV but I can't get any channels.

I just thought I could dig out my satellite receiver from one of the (many) boxes in the garage, connect to the coaxial cable and then get some channels…

    That'll be a no then – sorry

    You need a dish [antenna]

No. A satellite decoder decodes satellite transmissions, you need a freeview box to decode freeview transmissions.
