We've had btwin, muddy fox, aand onda ones.

They all have a thin foam pad which offer little cushioning.

Does anyone make a kids cycling short with a decent pad?

8 year old is happy with his Altura lycra that goes under whatever shorts he's wearing to ride.

Ours seem happy with Decathlon. Cheap and ok for the money

Otherwise try Polaris, Altura, Dare2Be.

Edit - ok you've tried Decathlon. What kind of riding do tbey do? Are they wearing anything under the shorts - took ages to convince our two to go commando underneath.

And from your post, is it the kids who don't like them or is it your observation of the padding?

Have a look on here, don't know what size you are after

If it baggies your after then cheap beach shorts worked for us with proper padding underneath, or even some of the Scott womens shorts off the same site could be unisex

Got my lads a pair each of Cube Teamline baggies. Excellent quality, decent liner and only a tenner a pair at CRC.

Makes the Altura ones I've previously bought look like crap.

Funkier 10 panel ones from Merlin are hands down the best we've ever used.

Cheap (£13 at the moment!) and very good quality / sturdy.

Based on their age ratings, both my not very large kids had to go up a size (e.g. my 10 yr old is in large / 12 yr old size).

Lewis has a 25 inch wasit and he has the small but there isn't a huge amount of space left in them

My little rippers have Polaris and Altura.

Polaris are the better of the two.
