Anybody got any good ideas what I can get my Dad for his 60th. Thinking of an 'activity' and opposed to an item.

Looking for something different not run of the mill like a track day or hot air balloon flight!

    Cheers

Take him away for a weekend somewhere fantastic and get all family to go too. Eat good food, drink, celebrate.

I booked my dad and his mate a round at the Old Course in St Andrews, followed by a round of the New Course the next day. That was two years ago and he's still talking about it.

Of course if your Dads not a golfer thats not appropriate, but thinking about things that you know he'd like to do, but would never get round to doing off his own due to costs or hassle to organise will give you an idea of what will make a special present.

Although he plays golf, I wouldn't describe him as a golfer!

I booked my mum and dad a weekend away at a very posh hotel with michelin-star restaurant. They must have liked it as they've been back twice.

Mrs North's father – a Bread-like trip, comprising me, Mrs North, her mother and father and her brother, to Paris for the weekend.

My father – I took him to Barcelona for a weekend, where we ate and drank loads, and went to see Barca play Valencia (at the time, 1 and 2 in the league) before more food and drink.
