A mate of mine who I was riding with today knows the guy who found him.
He didn't come off and injure himself, apparently he was feeling rough for the first part of the ride and was dropped my his mates going up the hill and he keeled over (coronary?) and died.

Very sad.

Very sad, but all the same when I go, perhaps that's the way to go. That said I hope I'm 100+ when I do that

So his "mates" just continued riding on despite this happening?? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

A Stockport Clarion rider here. RIP lone rider.
Hoping it's not any of the other Clarion riders? I've accounted for most of them.

Surely more likely they carried on to the top, and waited - then someone else found him before they came back?

As tbh that's what would happen with our MTB group, although if he was a Roadie...

Saw a similar thing a few years ago when I was out on my motorbike in the Dales. Guy in his 50's just collapsed on the side of the road halfway up a climb. I stopped along with a couple of car drivers - CPR was given, air ambulance was called out, but he passed away before the ambulance arrived. Very sad, but nothing more any of us could have done.
