A weekend pass

Ha! 40 myself this year (and got myself a ragley ti-bit beyond your budget I know!) Best biking present I got was a nice pair of merino socks off my brother. Really apreciated them, he only had a few quid to spend and he got exactly what (I didn't know) I wanted.

I got a merino top and a merino Buff for mine - though see debates on here for evidence that not everybody likes merino.

Something Swobo. There are some good deals on merino short sleeve cycling tops - under 50 @ Stif. Go up a size though if you do order!

Good suggestion woodsman, tho us aging bikers prefer long sleeves I think. You can always roll them up when its hot
Age has made me far too sensible and practical!

He says having just spanked over a grand on a hardtail frame

Cheers Woodsman - will look into the SWOBO option - I may pass on the Ti hardtail purchase...although I am sure there must a useless/useful Ti accessory out there for such an occasion..

If its something to keep then this guy is brilliant: http://www.thesprocketman.com/
I bought a disc rotor clock for a mate's 40th last year and one as a leaving gift for a bloke at work this year. Excellent service on both occasions and both were really pleased with their gifts.

The traditional present for a 40th seems to always be a Titanium (sportive-style) road bike
That kind of passes the 50 quid budget though..Posted 2 years ago #
