    Me again, now I've found my peaked cap to go under my helmet….. I need to re-jig the gearing on my Jake the Snake. As I've got an old Middleburn Duo with 44/32 on it and a spare 12-23 block will this do?

    What's on there at the moment? I find 34/48 with 12/27 good for all round use.

    Er, it's been doing duty as a winter road bike so, 53/39 x 12-23.

    probably.

    I find 46/36 and 12-28 is ideal for a full range of off-road riding.
