Thinking of getting a cross bike but at 6 foot would a 56cm seat tube frame be suitable?

I guess the tt length will usually about the same as this?

I would say yes but the Horiz TT length is more reliable a measurement than the TT seat tube length. I have a 56cm Ribble Winter bike and Spesh Tarmac 56cm and I am 6 ft 🙂

If you are new to road bikes/Cross bikes then I’d take one out on the road for 30 mins?

I’m 6,2″ and ride a 56 cross bike and a 19.5 MTB

56 sounds about right for you, but I would say if at all possible ride the same model somewhere before you make your decision…
