My Klein has developed creaking noises as I ride. It’s in time with pedal rotation so I suspected the bottom bracket, but having changed it yesterday the creaking remains the same. What else to look for? Pedals?

Had this for ages and couldn’t work it out. Have a look at your seatpin.

Rear QR.
Knees.

Don’t think it’s the seat pin as it still creaks when I’m out of the saddle.

May sound strange but check your headset – I had a similar problem and turned out to be my headset….

Seatposts can creak when out of the saddle (frame flex causes it) – I’ve had this a couple of times on mates’ bikes when the post was very dry in the frame.

Pedals, QRs, chainring bolts are other sources of creaks that are often missed.

QR’s – checked
Chainring bolts – checked
Seatpost – dry – greased
headset- tightened – not tightened enough after recent new stem
knees – hmmm
