    Any recommendations for a bit of pub grub within walking distance from the Coniston Hall camp site for tonight?

    think you will struggle to get a good bar meal in the village,if you want to travel a bit further,the church house in torver is good,or a big walk over the hill to hawshead would be worth it for a meal in the queens head.

    Mmmmm. The Queen’s Head in Hawky. Brilliant grub and Stowford Press on tap. Not cheap but very, very good.

    Black bull, own brewery in cellar, have a pint of ‘Old Man’ for me.
    Love it there, best pub in Coniston.

    Wilson Arms in Torver for me. Great mixed grill. Walk seems shorter on the way back than the way there, but beer normally helps.
