I rode Cycle Oregon last week and met the man. While in Portland, I intended to help build a chicken coop. Turns out the hubmeister keeps chickens too and gave us instructions on how to build the perfect racoon proof coop.
We ended up with a Philip Starck pared down uber coop.

Stuartie it was fantastic. Amazing roads through fantastic landscape. Happy Camp is still steeped in 60's nirvana. Monster road climbs and huuuge downhills. Half hour descents on Alpine roads at 35mph+
I climbed Mt St Helens. Its pretty spectacular. I towed a bob trailer out from Portland. Nearly seventy odd miles behind a carbon road bike with Conti 4000s tyres. The rear was shredded to the casing when I arrived. Luckily I got a lift back.
I'm in Marin now, eating cake at the Bovine Bakery in Point Reyes Station.
Perfectly machined chicken coops... surely the next step after salt n' pepper shakers?
He had some new road hubs on his stand where he was serving coffee. They looked pretty good.
Apparently Bob Chicken keeps foxes...go figure

We're moving house soon, and will be doubling our chicken population, from 4 to 8 (or more). I'll be building something bespoke for them to roost and lay in - they'll be free range in the orchard during the day.
(We're going to have an orchard! How cool is that?)

A mate's pet chicken was killed when a horse sat on it. Fact.
Neither my chickens or our horse are that stupid. We do have cats however that sit on the horse.
