I’m after a new sleeping bag, a 3 season one, that will be comfortable for my summer arctic trip but also not too hot for summer bivying. So i’m looking at one with a +5 to -5 range.

I don’t want a down one incase it gets wet so the best i’ve found is the Snugpak Softie 6 Kestral at £70 ish.

Does anyone know any other makes to consider, any with the golden combo of the same quality but cheaper price?

    thanks

The Marmot Wave sleeping bags are highly regarded by Trail magazine.

According to the Trail reviews, they’re apparently warmer than they’re rating implies.

Not sure how well they pack down either. I recall the snugpaks being pretty compact. Might be worth just biting the bullet and buying a cheap/compact summer bag and a winter one.

Softies are always a good buy, I have a 3 that is fine for UK bivvying. I’d much rather carry spare layers than a monster sleeping bag

cheers, the marmots look good but they seem to be heavier and bigger than softies but for the same money.
