    Morning All

I’m after some blue chainring bolts to tart up my crank and wanted some without logos.

I recall hearing about some crank bolts failing or rattling loose and wondered if there were any to avoid or that were particularly good.

    Cheers all 🙂

Brand-X on chainreaction come in blue and don’t have logos. Never had any issues with mine coming loose. Get some blue threadlock on there and use a proper chainring nut tool to fit them 🙂

Looks good to me, and a bargain £6 on crc to boot.

    What threadlock do you use?

Don’t use threadlock – you’ll never get them done up again once you loosen them 🙁

I used loctite 243 previously but when I used it last it “glued” the bolts in and was a bugger of a job to get the things out again.

Made me think twice about using it again so any alternatives?

I use the prit-stick style 248 Loctite. Quite reasonable in Halfords.

    Grease is all you need.
