Hi,

Rather than fork out for the shimano hg 9spd chain can I use a cheaper one ?

Race Face Chainset, Deore LX rear derailleur, sram rear sprocket/cassette.

you can use any Shimano/SRAM 9spd chain.

e.g. HG53, HG93 or PC-951, PC-971, PC-991

And also any 9 speed KMC, and loads of others for that matter. SRAM 951 is a good budgety performer.

Ta, the SRAM 951 is £14.99.

Sedisport, those were the chains in 90s.
