Hi just got the new bikew and need to trim down the bars which are monkey light carbon.
Anyone know if its just a case of cutting them the same as alloy set.

i used a sharp hacksaw and dont breath the dust in apart from that its same iirc

Use a fine, hard and sharp blade, wear a dust mask.
IIRC the carbon shards/particles aren't so small to be dangerous unless you're doing really high speed machining, but I wouldn't take the risk.

put tape round then 1st, stops them from splintering

Have you actually ridden them yet? I find my Eastons to be fine width-wise.

What Mikey said - I was tempted to cut down the Monkeylites on my bike but I've actually got quite used to the width now. Don't even miss bar ends any more

I cut down you're old broken ones that I ponced off you with a junior hacksaw and a bit of lube

Measure twice, cut once (x2 in this case).

+1 for try them first - you will get used to them. They are not that wide so you could be making an expensive mistake

Try them first, I'm upto 720mm now
Just a bit marginal getting it through doors though...

Wonder if he cut them down? Pretty much every post after he posted "off to the workshop hacksaw in hand" was try them first.

I was just thinking that
