As above, copying a CD to my laptop to load to MP3 device, using Creative software, and it won’t have it. It tells me it’s unable to rip a DTS format. WTF is DTS?

    digital theatre system?
you can get a rip of that by downloading “Audacity”.
it enables you to get a pretty good rip of whatever your pc is playing through it’s speaker.

Audio CDs aren’t DTS format so it is probably your software getting confused it could be down to the CD having emphasis this is unusual but older CDs sometimes used it – I have had problems with this a few times

Try using EAC to rip it.
