The cable guides on the top tube of my '08 ASR are 'open' to allow a full run of cable outer through however, especially when it's wet & mucky, the outers get worn through from sliding through the guides as the suspension moves. There do not appear to be any rough edges in there and it's the only thing about the bike that annoys me.
Can you get inserts to turn them into cable stops? A quick interweb search seems to suggest there is something available for older Cannondales but it's unclear whether these are bike specific or not.
Any other suggestions?
