whats best thing to use to stop cables rubbing against your forks? top of my forks are scratched to buggery, ive been using heli tape but that stuff comes off far to easy, anything i could put on the cable?

You can get cable protectors from SRAM and Jagwire that would work, although you might need to put small bit of tape to hold in place
Like this:

i'm guessing its gear cables, so why not just cut a couple of cm off the cable outers so they dont rub?
