    why is it when I watch an online video that it takes ages to watch a clip ,it doesnt matter if its youtube or vids posted on here its always the same , I looked at my connection speed and it says its 3.6Mbps ,is there anything I can do other than be patient

    Hi SB – are you using a web-based speed checker or looking at the link speed on the router?

    My in-laws have a 2Mb connection (Tiscali) but the throughput is utter crap, at less than 1Mb throughput.

    SB – on your system tray it only shows your network speed (i.e. between your PC and the router), not your internet connection speed.

    probably better at different times of the day.

    Did the ISP sell you the dongle on promises of 7.2MBPS?

    No it was about 4Mbps ,sometimes yes its a lot faster ,better by a pigeon will be cheaper and faster !
