I need to set up a couple of cameras to take some time-lapse pics, ideally one picture a day for a couple of months. Looking for something I can pick up on ebay for under £50 (compact, a few years old, 8-10mp). It’s pretty hard to find details on the actual time lapse feature, can anyone suggest something that might do?

I think you do it by connecting the camera to a laptop. Mine can do it, Olympus, I think it’s their software that does it.

There is a timer device on ebay for 20 quid that works for some canon and olympus SLRs.

There are also some webcam apps that do something similar.

I was looking to use a compact with built in time lapse. There’s quite a few, but I’m struggling to find the details of time lapse feature. I’ve found one that is limited to 1 shot every 60 mins which isn’t long enough, I really want one shot per day.

Have a look at the CHDK firmware, works on most Canon compacts I think.
