Anyone run a BB mount chain device such as an LG1/G2 on their 4X? If so what setup have you used with the spacers since my G2 seems to be a bit (ie, its up against!) the swingarm if I have it flush with the frame. Using it so its <frame><spacer><chain device> spaces it nicely but since my chainring bolts haven’t arrived yet, I can’t test to see whether or not its going to have a decent chainline…

    Anyone? Guitarhero – you around?

Yes – with an MRP Carbon on mine, I ran that exact set up.

The lower arm of the chain device sat approx 1mm from the chainstay & was still rotated enough to tension the chain.

No shifting issues with a 9spd cassette on the back. The only potential issue I could forsee is because the backplate on the carbon is very thin, it ‘just’ cleared the lower linkage pivot – if the chain device was any wider, then it could have fouled it, meaning your couldn’t rotate it far enough without a lot of spacers & thus ruining the chainline…

Cool, should be ok then. Can’t imagine they’d design a ‘4X’ frame that’d be a pain to run with a chain device…

1×9 on Sunday mornings ride then hopefully!
