If it’s a Touch, then an app like Shazam needs ‘phones with a microphone, so either get hold of some Apple ones from an iPhone owner who’s upgraded, or better still get some ‘phones with a mic and remote which will give you better results and sound quality anyway.
Also recommend Redlaser Starwalk and iBooks, plus Stanza and Kindle.
