Peanut butter thinly spread on the toast, sweet chilli dipping sauce in with the beans to heat up, put beans & Chilli sauce mixture on top of the PB covered toast then grate some cheese on top. The food of champions
Grind some salt and pepper into the beans, add a bit of chili powder and cook them until the sauce thickens up nicely. I normally throw in the bread crumbs from cutting the bead for my toast too.
Some cracking ideas here.
A spoonful of curry powder stirred in while heating up works a treat too and the a bit of grated cheddar at the end and bang it under the grill for a minute. Lush.
an alternative to marmite on the toast is to stir a teasponful of marmite into the beans while you're heating them up.
oh, adding either ketchup or salt to this classic dish, this complete meal, is heresy, mind. pretty much anything else mentioned in this thread is essentially superfluous, but acceptable if you insist.
