Eating mine right now, with a bit of Lea & Perrins on because I've run out of HP.

Got me wondering, what's the best way to do beans on toast? What do you add?

Cheese

Sweet chilli sauce – and a glass of red wine

I always chop up a birds eye chilli into mine….and a bit of brown sauce mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Tabasco

cheese – some under some on top of the beans.

JUst pepper

I'd not entertain anyone that didn't like B.O.T. either

Anchovies

soy sauce, just a dash.
Slip 'em on the raft, grate of cheddar, under the grill.

Cheese and Worcestershire sauce – end of.

best butter on the toast, beans, pepper……….sorted.

Brown sauce

Has to be really nice mature chedder too. And thick hand sliced bread if possibe. HP baked beans are superior to Heinz as well – Thicker sauce.

Cheese on top, lea and perrins squirted at the start of cooking.

Strong Cheddar cheese.

Tabasco or any other hot sauce I have lying around always goes down a treat.

branston pickle is good on cheese on toast – and stirred into macaroni cheese.

Branston beans are the king of beans…. with poached egg and grated cheese… the best way to eat B on T

some nice crispy bacon cut up, and small diced mushrooms throuwn into the beans, lots of butter on the toast, and then some tomatoe ketchup to top it off…

scrambled egg with mine today… ultimately though good butter, fried egg and cheese… not too healthy though 🙁

Lots of good idea's going on here, used to mix a little curry sauce in when i was much younger but usually have them straight now.

Brown sauce,cheese & a soft boiled egg or two on the top for me……

Peanut butter thinly spread on the toast, sweet chilli dipping sauce in with the beans to heat up, put beans & Chilli sauce mixture on top of the PB covered toast then grate some cheese on top. The food of champions

cheese, ground chillies and er pineapple.

Slice of corned beef on the toast and spoon over the beans. Add lashings of HP brown sauce and devour with gusto and glee.

Crivens – I'm hungry now.

Grind some salt and pepper into the beans, add a bit of chili powder and cook them until the sauce thickens up nicely. I normally throw in the bread crumbs from cutting the bead for my toast too.

heat some olive oil and then add the beans and too much tabasco

Marmite on the toast, beans, cheese.

Extra ketchup, dried chillies, ground pepper, black olives, chorizo and maple syrup. Grated cheddar on top.

Some cracking ideas here.
A spoonful of curry powder stirred in while heating up works a treat too and the a bit of grated cheddar at the end and bang it under the grill for a minute. Lush.

an alternative to marmite on the toast is to stir a teasponful of marmite into the beans while you're heating them up.

oh, adding either ketchup or salt to this classic dish, this complete meal, is heresy, mind. pretty much anything else mentioned in this thread is essentially superfluous, but acceptable if you insist.

Oh, and strong Yorkhire Gold tea.

2 poached eggs (Ton style) on buttered wholemeal toasts, with cracked black pepper, salt and a sprinkle of nutmeg

… so good I ate it twice this evening

Perfect beans on toast = 2 slices toasted+ beans+ 2 poached (soft) eggs +grated cheese! mmmmmm! 😆
