    One for the IT gurus.

I run Vista / Firefox and Kapersky and I’ve started having trouble getting onto certain banking websites. Tesco Finance, Sainsbury’s bank and Barclaycard, but I can get onto First Direct.

My wife has spotted that the problem has spread and she can’t get onto the Fat Face site or the Mini Forum. Her set up is the same except she has XP.

Any ideas what the problem might be? We’ve turned off Kapersky to no avail. We’ve also tried IE to eliminate Firefox.

All suggestions welcome but I’m never going to get a Mac! 😉

    Cheers

I would run a virus scan before you do anything else

Bizarrely its working again now. I’ve done nothing but my wife claimed to have fixed it by putting a tick in the “accept ping from internet” box in the router settings.

I was sceptical so I took it out again and it still works.

It can’t just be a “turn it off and back on again” problem as I’ve been having the same problem all week.

Thanks for the suggestions though, I will do a virus scan and if it happens again cookies will be my first port of call.

    Cheers

All my problems with getting onto such sites were my MTU settings.
