Does anyone know which system of maps I could use with a Garmin GPS unit. Do they have anything similar to OS maps ?

There are two types of paper map commonly in use in Austria.

The freytag & berndt Wanderkarte are a bit vague, but do come “mit Radwanderrouten” That’s cycle routes to you and me! I have some for Innsbruck/Stubai-Sellrain/Brenner, Wetterstein-Karwendel/Seefeld-Leutasch/Garmish and Kufstein/Kaisergebirge/Kitzbuhel looking fo a good home

The Alpenvereinskarte at 1:25000 are quite ecellent. Produced by the Austrian equivalent of OS in conjunction with the Austrian equivalent of BMC, they are extremely reliable.

I have a couple here that you can have if you are going anywhere near Kitzbuhel, Karwendel of Stubaier Alps
