AuroraWatch uk have just issued a red alert for auro watchers.

On the 9th March it was seen in Bristol so clear skies permitting someone might be in luck.

I might be reading it wrong, but the last link seems to show naff all chance of seeing it, doesn’t it? Taking the red line as the view line as suggested. Boo!

    woody,

On the 9th – a shitty cloudy night in lancashire the line came down as far as Kendal (ish) & yet someone logged on the aurowatch site that it was seen in Bristol.

It might be worth a pop out later.
If I was free I would nip up Winter Hill but I can’t tonight.

Cloud just rolled in here near Teesside but looks broken so might clear later. Will head out later for a look.

I havn’t seen the sky in Bristol all flipping day!

Furthest south I ever saw it was on the Leicestershire / Northamptonshire boarder. That was a long time ago now though.

Been heavy mist all day here in N.Wilts, level with Bristol/London.

Clear here in Doncaster, might head out toward Thorne Moors later for a spot of dogging a better look if Spaceweather.com is still promising a chance of a show.

rest dreek in lancashire (to mix my colloquialisms) too.but just been out.

not sure if I am imagining it but the northern sky does look vaguely green.
