I’ve got some Ragley Carnegie’s on one bike and love them.

I’m curious as to what else I should consider for something similar but different. Maybe a little more width would be nice, i.e. 700 mm 🙂

    Anyone seen anything?

Sorry, but the shape (sweep of the hand position) is all-important. 8)

I’m about to buy some of these, could be a horrible mistake!

Do they count at attention seeking?

Also considering some of these for the MTB

Funny this should pop up today, I retrieved my pub bike at the weekend that’s been sitting in a mate’s garage for over a year. It has Mary bars on it, and I’d forgotten how comfortable they are. I’m toying with putting them back on my 456.

I’m curious,do they beep when you find the attention you are looking for?

IHN, you’ve made me think… I’ve got a SS hack bike with Mary bars on, that I lent to a mate and, as far as I know, he’s hardly ridden it… Shame I’ve got nowhere to keep it… 🙁

I’d prefer a *ping* or a HONK but a beep would do.

Rich – since you’ve posted roadie bar on a MTB thread, yes 🙂

Edit: They’re Sunline V1s BTW – I think Amazon still have them in blue 😉

Get some 700mm bars and ride at full tilt through a 650mm gap. Make sure you’re holding the bars by the stem.

I just put some Carnegies risers on the hardtail. Likey very much. It was a bit noodley before, but not any longer! Considering some carbon ones for the Trance, and I’m a long time Mary (ab)user on the singlespeed.

Don’t Salsa do some that are similar?

Hooray for the most helpful poster on the thread :o)

I hadn’t seen any carbon Carnegie’s, I’ll got have a better look. I’ll also follow up the lead on the Salsa’s cheers!

I bought the funny colour carbon ones. They’re a lot greener now than 18 months ago when they were new, when they seemed more chundery. And I think they suit the bike better since it changed colour:

Prefer them to Mary’s which I still use every day on the commuter – the extra width is a plus, and they haven’t broken which is nice.

Where was the first photo taken? Quite amazing! Although I really have a problem with such hihg places, I’d rather ride my bike in the woods 🙂

Is there any difference (except weight and clamp size) between the Carnegies and the Marys?

Blue BFe with orange (Race Face Atlas FR 785mm) bars and orange grips……we’re so rad.

Jon, you’re welcome to have a go on the Voodoo with Salsa bars. I think they’re only the 11deg variant.

My very favorite bars are the On-One Midge’s, but for err, flat’ish bars …

    Jones Loop bars:

    …or the Titec licensed H-bars:

    both work well for me.

I can’t get on with any straight bars now, even those with a bit of sweep/rise, I love having that extra backsweep – anything less just feels wrong now. If I had to come down to one tho’ – it’d be the loop bars.
