Any idea what the dividing sign means in the above?

At a guess it’s chamfered so the hole is wider at the top or bottom?

    480 to 490 +2 to -0 tolerance

Not sure what the context is, but it makes no sense to me – unless they’re suggesting a size range between 480 & 490 but then the notion of a tolerance (can’t read it clearly, but it looks like plus2 / minus0) would be nonsense. Couldn’t begin to tell you why they’ve used the division symbol though.

I’d ring them and ask them for clarification; as the drawing’s pants.

    It’s a neff hob.

    Confused because why not not write 486 +- 6 rather than 480 to 490 +2 – 0

Why don’t you just measure the hob and see what size of aperture you need that way

Just went with the shorter measurment, fits fine (not in middle front to back because worktops deeper than standard and overhang)

    as oli’d said^^^.
Sloping (by 5mm each end of the hole) face to those cuts.
490 measured on top of the opening.
    480 measured underside.
    Possiblly?
