My opposition to these theads is well known and so are the reasons.

I do not believe on an open forum that posting pictures of scantily clad women is appropriate. Its clearly against the forum rules

will those who agree with me register their support? a couple of folk did on the other thread

    Thank you

And the scanitly clad men, get a life, you really need to watch Good Morning Vietnam, there is a line in the film that could apply to you

No. I couldn't care less either way about A&A, but it's just an Internet forum, if you don't like the subject matter don't open the thread

can I register that I don't agree with you somewhere?

I find this thread offensive and stupid. However, I clicked on it and shall continue to comment on it in an inane, self-righteous manner.

Lets just change the topic name to 'A&A, do not open if easily offended' that way open people who want to open it will do so and those who don't like it don't have to look at it.

Frankly I don't care about the topic one way or another but we're all big boys and girls and we can all make decisions about what we want to look at can't we, and let others make similar choices for themselves?

NO! NO! NO! NEVER! NEVER! NEVER!

TJ is the arbiter of what you should think and do and you will obey his commandments!

No don't, because there's nothing to actually get offended about in the A&A or Kylie threads

TJ seriously, I'll back you up on a lot of things, but this??!! You're being a {choose an insult, sufficiently offensive but not so bad I need to be banned}.

If you don't like it. Don't look at it. It seems a hell of a lot of people enjoy it, so go join a mormon forum or something.

i agree with tj i think the thread should be clearly named as PORN.
then we would all no where we stood.

TJ - you're better trying to engage with Mark/Chipps on this - if there are commercial pressures to end A&A (either from advertisers or visitors or because google starts flagging the site as containing 'unsafe' images) then it's more likely to be canned than as a result of any number of shouting matches on here.

I think it's unecessary, ehether I visit it or not, and if it puts people off STW as a whole because they feel it reflects the views/opinions/preferences of all members then it's a bad thing.

TSY - the point is that the A&A threads put women folk off the forum and set an atmosphere that many find unpleasant.

this forum is going to the dogs.... just another example of removing the things that make it special. go ahead stop it, the forum will be inhabitied by TJ preying on newbies and will get really rather tedious

(on another poiint though let have new pictures in each A&A though some of them come up every week)

You don't have to open these sorts of threads TJ

are you offended at the thought of what they contain? - or do you open them to be offended?
Or maybe you just can't help yourself, get offend & then have to go off & punish yourself or something?

As John Cleese once said, "some people need offending"

I'd like to see it banned if only for helping me discover that I liked pictures of 6th form netball teams. I'd try to be deliberately provocative and ended up with a nasty addiction for which there are not enough legal pictures on the web to feed.

what - women don't come on the forum much because of a thread that lasts about two hours on friday lunchtime, that they can easily avoid. i don't believe that for one minute.
if i check out STW on a friday night, my wife asks if the 'friday kylie thing' and male equivalent is on.
nothing personal TJ, but just can't agree with you on this. if you don't like the thread, don't open it.

Aawwwwwwwwwww bless. has someone offended your delicate sensibilities Tj? I simply can't believe that.

Normally you're so understanding and tolerant of other peoples varied attitudes and opinions.

So... what you're advocating is a cull of all the threads that you don't personaly like or. A sort of forum eugenics

Perhaps you could have a live webcam showing you at the top of each thread. Then you can do this if you don't aprove

and the offending poster could be thrown to the lions

if it was posted on the bike forum i'd agree that there is no place for it but it is posted on the chat forum which is for all other topics and as such is not out of place, if you do not like it you don't have to look and you have no business trying to force your opinions onto other people like a religous freak knocking on doors would so i recommend that you take your head for shit!.

i find it tedious and pathetic*, and coming from me thats pretty damning.

but i dont open the thread.

Just in the interests of clarity - do you have any evidence of this or are you just presuming?

how could Mark and Chipps justify closing down such a thread when they have the Knog adverts in the calendar - that would be massively hypocritical!!!
and don't get me started on those, because they aren't offensive either.

The procreation of our species is dependant on strong instinct. For that reason behaviours and attractions both ways round are significant and defining elements of who and what we are. Frankly TJ you are a having a bit of a King Canute moment trying to turn that particualr tide back. Driving these sort of things underground is, in my view bound to end in failure often in ways that are difficult to predict. The Catholic Church being one obvious example amongst many. Personally I favour honesty and openness, whilst also respecting your right to hold those views.

MrS - there were threads when this all kicked off last year in which a lot of women said they were put off stw by the sexism.

A&A isn't the only place it occurs but it's a barometer for the site as a whole that it continues, I think.
