Hello.
I’ve had my right anterior cruciate ligament replaced after too many years of it giving way and leaving me on the floor.
My recovery was as follows.
Two whole weeks on my back. – no weight on leg at all.
Just did very basic but swearing painful stretches with laccy band.
Week 3 I started physio proper-I did a lot of physio – a good 10 months
Week 6 I spun my bike around a cricket pitch –
physio said ok – but don’t fall off!
Week 12 I did a slow tour of Skiddaw . 😀
Obviously everyone’s different but don’t try to push it too hard.
It hurts like buggery when you do.
Do you know if they are taking the donor ligament from your hamstring?
If so, this is the most painfull part of it IMO.
All in all I’m “happy” I had mine done – took 18 months for it to be 95% better – I still feel the screws in damp cold .
Best of luck.
