.75 wear on chain. Do I replace it??

As above. Or do I wait until its 1.0 wear on chain before replacing. Or don't bother and continue to use until it fails?

I tried to change a chain recently at .75 and the existing cassette would just not work properly with a new chain.

I got fed up and put the old chain back on and it was fine again so now i'll just run it into the ground and change cassette and chain together in due course.

Up to you? I replaced mine at .75 and the new chain skipped on the cassette so obviously worn to. Put old chain back on works fine. Will run like this till it all needs replacing now.

If you can get away with a new chain on the old casette then replace it, if not ride the whole lot into the ground.

Not clear which is cheaper long term but its nice to have good shifting from an unworn chain
