Looking at getting a 29er on the bike to work scheme so has to be around the £1000 mark (complete bike). Any suggestions?

Fully rigid, but nicely specced On One Scandal 29er for £1 under?
The Pro XT version (with the same fork) got What MTB's 'best 29er' award a few months back, if it's any indication. They do the CTW scheme too.

Cheers for the info! It will be my first 29er, so unsure of what's the best choice out there. I'm 6'6" so my next question would be roughly what size and importantly what geometry should I be looking out for. I know what I like on a 26" wheel'd bike but really don't have clue when it comes to a 29er! I would imagine the angles would be a good bit steeper.

A Singular could also be a possibility through one of my dealers which does Cycle to Work. At your height it's likely to be XL in pretty much anything. Would definitely recommend test riding - not all big wheelers were created equal.

I will try and test ride as many as possible but not many dealers stock the largest sizes. I live in Glasgow so will need to shop around a bit I think to see what I can come with.

The Kona Big unit is a nice bike. I am 6' and have the large and its a bit of a gate, but arent all 29er's ??
good bits
Light, good fork, sliding drop out ( can be swapped to a geared hanger.bad bits
Wheels, stem (120) Brakes.Other wise very good and a bargain .

The on one XT pro looks to be the best deal I think. The on one carbon 29er looks the dogs but only available in a size 18!! I think I may just opted for that one if it was in a 21".
