  • 10spd rear mech. XT or SLX?

My rear mech decided to headbutt a few spokes the other day resulting in a mangled mech and a couple of broken spokes.

Anyway, looking to replace so I can get back out on the bike.
Looking at Google shopping, there is not much in it between the XT price and the SLX.

Should I go SLX this time or is there no real world difference?

Looking for 10spd with med cage. Not fussed on what colour!

Not sure you can get med cage SLX in 10 sp at the moment?

You get proper bearings in the jockey wheels on the XT version, and there are more machined/cast parts so less flex in the mech giving you marginally crisper shifts. If you have the cash I think it’s money well spent to go with the XT.

There is no 2012 GS SLX, you need to go to XT for that.

The cheapest XT mech is actionsports.de.

If that is the case then you’ve answered my question! Cheers!

Think they are being released in July but may be wrong.
