I've got an old steel Kona which i am attempting to get roadworthy for friend. The headset was missing parts when i bought it, so i've managed to get hold of a new headset (1 1/8th threaded).
This has already been quite a saga, until i was rung yesterday by my local bike shop saying that they don't in fact have tool to fit it! Apparantly my local cycle surgery will, but will probably charge £70!
Does anyone know anywhere in London that can fit this at a reasonable cost, or does anyone know of a way to fit it without the proper tool?

. I'm pretty sure that the cups are almost identical regardless of whether it's an older threaded-style or newer ahead-style headset, the only difference being the spanner needed for the locknuts on the older type . . . £70 seems madness!
