Full Beam Night Mini Downhill at Innerleithen

Argh! I'm being chased!
The quest to breathe new life into mountain biking continues at Innerleithen with the debut of a new event format in Traquair Forest on 3 November at the Full Beam Day Night Mini Downhill Race.
Taking the Mini Downhill format as a basis, riders push their bikes up to the start of the course for practice runs, then as night falls, the action starts.  Using lights attached to helmets and handlebars, the racers will negotiate the same course under cover of darkness for their race runs.
Helen Findlay, of Innerleithen MTB Racing says “we like to keep things interesting for the riders and with the awesome new light technology coming from innovative companies like Full Beam making it possible, night riding and racing is just one more way to increase the fun factor in mountain biking”.
The event will be closely followed on 4 November by round 3 of the Mini Downhill series for ages 10-18.  Both events take place with the agreement and co-operation of Forestry Commission Scotland.
