Beach racing comes to the north of England with Sandblasted

***UPDATE – Oct 13*** – the Sandblasted organisers have got in touch with some hot news:
With Sandblasted less than a month away Focal Events Ltd have taken the radical step to help out all those who worry about entry costs … entry fee is to be heavily subsidised and is now £5! With a reduction in cost comes no reduction in quality with still a quality lap incorporating 5km of beach.
Focal Events rationale is that the event and the location deserve a good showing and they are prepared to pay to make this happen. As well as the racing Alpkit and Sonder will be on site with display and demo bikes.  Prizes for all category winners to be supplied by Alpkit, Sonder and Vittoria.
Furthermore register a family member or friend to volunteer for some marshalling then they will waive the fiver charge and you race for free … most reasonable event ever?  We think maybe 🙂
Bargain! Read on for the original details…
Still feeling the hunger to race in 2017, but not up for taking on an hour of ‘cross pain? Focal Events have got in touch to let us know about their new race in the north east of England.

Over to them:
Remember, remember the 5th of November … the inaugural Sandblasted is set to create fireworks!
The event brings the unholy union of sand and dirt is to be hosted on one of the most beautiful coastlines in the UK.
Sandblasted will see riders tackle a 10km loop, an equal measure of beach and trail.
The event will offer at least 90 minutes of fast paced racing, we envisage a tyre debate the like no one has seen before, fat and squidgy to attack the beach or narrower with more pressure to rule the trails? Only post event banter will give us the answer.

The event is capped at 250 riders. The event offers a great place to explore a whole host of bike choices.
In 2017 the event is supported by Alpkit and Sonder Bikes providing the prizes for all category winners. Sonder will be displaying their latest range of bikes.
