Cube have been in touch with us to shout about their latest Cross Race range. It is based around a redesigned aluminium frame, or to be more precise a “double butted Superlite Advanced 6061 aluminium frame with tubes optimised via elaborate mechanical forming and X12 axles front and rear”, which “adds up to a frame that’s torsionally very stiff, but also surprising comfortable, thanks to slender seat stays and a precise-steering, vibration-absorbing carbon/alloy fork developed specifically for cyclocross”.
So there we go. It certainly has all right words in the right order. There’s also an added bones for shorter riders, as Cube are offering the Cross Race in a 50cm size. The frame comes in a number of build options, with pricing ranging from £999 up to £1799 for the range topping Cross Race SLT.
SRAM Force 1×11 rapidly seems to becoming the de-rigour spec of choice for high-end builds. The Cross Race SLT is no exception. Alongside the groupset, the bike features a Mavic Askium wheelset and Schwalbe X-One tyres.
